...pylar rituals...

PYLAR
NOISE/EXPERIMENTAL METAL

It's dark, it's evil, it's spritual

Founded in 1016, by several hierophants, shamans and druids, PYLAR have finally made it to record their first album. They released it on Knockturne Records. With a running time of 48mins, packed into 7 constructions, they really sent you into some ancient times full of rituals, full of alchemy. Under the cowls somebody allegedly saw members of Orthodox and Blooming Látigo but maybe this view was faked by hallucinogenics.
Also it's hard to define when you have several people on stage with masks and robes.
No. Keep in mind we're not talking about Ghost but same phenomenon.
Anyway. PYLAR do a great job with that mixture of noise, experimental metal and ritual chants.
From time to time i felt remembered to some experimenting krautrock acts. Especially those long improvisations with this odd voice creates a great flow. The heavier parts are absolutely ass-kickin'. Here you have to mention ¡Alzos, oh, puertas eternas!. Well structured and really heavy riffing at 7min. Definitely the song i would recommend the most on this record.
What shouldn't mean that the others aren't worth a listening.

It's really rare to find something atmospheric like this.

...Hey colossus!!!

COLOSSUS
Stockholm
Stoner/Progressive Metal

True to their roots, this powerful trio who performs a headstrong metal with roots deep in the impenetrable mire of the stoner/doom/sludge tradition nuanced with streaks of progressive rock, post metal and psychedelia. A wide blend of influences are entwined and results in an accomplished and coherent music that is as direct and powerful as it is multi layered and meandering. Names that are commonly mentioned in relation to Colossus are Mastodon, Neurosis, Kyuss and Tool to name a few.

Colossus have created a name through a series of intensive, well regarded gigs throughout Stockholm rock scene. The demo "The Mechanical Engineering of Living Machines" gave the band a huge following all over the world and the songs could be heard on radio stations and compilations throughout the globe.

Now, a year later the follow up is due for release, enter three song EP "Spiritual Myiasis" filled with nearly 20 demanding minutes. With this release, which is the final step to the coming fulllength album scheduled this fall, the band aims to take the next step onto the established scene and spread their music to a bigger audience.

Wake up here

"Colossus is a kind of a three headed medusa, adaptable and varied, beautiful and ugly but above all just very filling for my ear!!! 9 Track's of finest prog/stoner metal with a touch of old known band's like TOOL, Mastodon, or the Ocean...a sound what i prefer so am obliged to evaluate these guys really good...thumb up!!!"

...horned tunes straight from italy...

 NIBIRU
DOOM/SLUDGE
ITALY

Nibiru is formed in august 2012 by the split up of Tronus Abyss (several studio albums and live with
Wolves in the Throne Room in 2010) the band moves towards psychedelic sludge
sonority with an enphasis on vocals only in enochian language,

deciding to record
the songs in direct drive to preserve the spirit and the energy of improvisation
on which the same are based, adding very few overdubs of keyboards and vocals during the mixing.
The band consist of three elements, Siatris:drums and Virus, Ardath:guitar and enochian chants, RI: bass and liturgic organ.

The band is notable for the disturbing videos posted on the web (Invokation I: the Acid Skull,
Celeste:Samsara is broken, Smashanam:the crematorium ground of Kali and Invokation IV: Heru-khentan-maati) visible on youtube, facebook and reverbnation.

The month of February 2013 saw the release of their first cd "Caosgon", containing five tracks that we difined ritual psychedelic sludge.

"At first to the cover...a google image unimaginative and distorted...ok? To the music ...The Intro (available for free on bandcamp) is a track with a proud length of  18 minutes, on this song you can build your first impression. The song builds slowly to a smooth structure until it explodes in heavy doom riffing. A really good opener for  the album"Caosgon" of this horned italians...It continues with "Smashanam, The Crematorium Ground Of Kalu"a downtuned high gain chainsaw noise forms into a acid rock part and turns off at about 5 minutes...fortunately! Aster Argos, the third track on this crazy disc of sound constitutes a inharmonious successive ranking of riff structures that sometimes comes nice but the most of the time was exhausting for my ears.
Again a fat start with this downtuned crumbly bass guitar...ends again in a massacre of tones, strangely, it grooves once again!!! "Umbra Venefica" the last song on this album...The first minutes are very interesting but after a time it is simply too unstructured. My Conclusion:
If you like band's like FJODOR, The Cosmic Dead maybe you will understand a little this music...everyone wants he wants."

...colourful stylistic...

DISSEFACTO
Experimental/Metal/Sludge
USA

Founded on 9/9/2009, The first recordings were a solo effort that couldn't progress from a Computer chip to a live setting without help from more than 1 or 2 musicians aside from Diego. Long time friend C. Tover AKA "Jvdas" was unwillingly harmonically drafted to join as Sonic Wizard into the tutelage of Sonic Shamanism at Dissension Without Borders Academy.

Dissefacto; is more or less, the vessel with which to attempt to form a path towards the collective unconscious of our Internal psyches. The Etymology of the Name comes from the true meaning of artistic and personal freedom with personal moral honorific boundaries. These Proclivities may be deemed pretentious to some, but we honor our musical lineage and integrate it to the Music.

Big Thank's to
Diego Cisneros

"Ok let's say something about this band...Dissefactor is difficult to classify, they have basic forms of metal, sludge and doom part's and a lot playful parts with delay and other psych effect's.But to be honest the music is not really for retribution. I lack the force and the accuracy, for example in some song's the delay is not adapted from the tempo and there are also some wrong notes on this record. For a demo CD it's ok but not for sale.
So at the end i can say it's a album with nice idea's and song's but the implementation is just too immature...let's wait for the next upcoming track's and let us see whether an improvement shows."

...the force of psychedelic...

Strange Forces
Psychedelic Rock
Australia

Australian Band Strange Forces influences range from Spacerock to obscure New-Age Prophecies. It sounds like a black sanded beach below 20 suns. It’s multi dimensional dark-surf, powered by Peyeote and driven by dark matter induced by their pineal gland. Strange Forces deliver a washed out Lo-Fi Psychedelic experience channeling organic and digital sounds from one swell to another.

Ominous & black...

OMINOUS BLACK
Anthropic Records
POST-SLUDGE
USA/Phil

Ominous Black began their journey in 2007, deploying lush, doomed, cosmic post-rock mixed with textural psychedelia.  Ominous Black has polished their way through four releases, creating a sound and feel that sets them apart.  For this fifth release, Ominous Black recruited Evan Pontell-Schaefer of Sadgiqacea to beast the gut-wrenching vocals and heart-pounding drums.  This two song release is a testament to where they have been and where they are heading.

The self-titled release is available from anthropic records in white vinyl and black/white marble vinyl.  The art was designed by Alyssa Maucere with hand pressed packaging by Reuben Little (Ocean). The music was recorded at Electrical Audio by the mighty Steve Albini and mastered by John Golden at Golden Mastering.

Ominous Black will tour US/Canada Fall 2012 and will set out for their 6th Full US tour in Spring/Summer 2013.

...where is my mojo...

MOJO WAVES
Progressive/Acid/Sludge Rock
Finland

Mojo Waves is a power-trio rock group based in Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in late 2011 but the musicians have been playing together for some years.

Mojo Waves is the opposite of the common rock band. It's unpredictable, personal and energetic. Although influenced by vast amount of bands, its sound is unique, and its music doesn't fit in any one category. Although the band feels some sort of spiritual connection with the rock music of the past, it doesn't try to copy its influences. The main goal of the band is to make their own personal songs that they can be proud of and play as many gigs as possible. Live music is what music has always been about, and that's what the band loves most, too.

"A incredible sound...crazy rock shit straight from finland..."Enjoy don't Destroy" is a crazy killer album...initially a little difficult but it is the right time after a shock...."Question" is my favourite song...the weard voice of  Arttu make's a good yob for the whole thing...it fit's exactly to the sound of Mojo Waves also the solo makes me wet...sound like Kylesa or Baroness(in the good times)...enjoy!"

SINGLE MOTHERS
Shoegaze/Sludge/Experimental
USA

Matthew Proctor aka the Cattle Decapitator aka PoNY paYRoLl BoNEs writes: This is not goddamn bullshit rock! The compositions unfurl subtle fury into dark ravines infused with twilights embers.
Neil Hamburger says: I prefer the sounds of the Big Bands, such as the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, to this Jesi Langdale says: i would describe it as low down heroin/acid rock.
Miss Informed of My Obscene Baby says: it sounds like in a Womb.

Harry in action
It's a Womb with a view. you're a total psycho and yeah... that's a turn on Chublaze of Deep Water Culture says: lo-fi high energy, experimental noise grunge from the future that travels via time machines to rape ear canals of the present day earth dwellers. Sarah Crawford aka prosac says: its like somebody's nightmare, like LSD in hell, like Rosemary's baby's first words, or like lost souls clashing or complaining. sounds like a weekend abortionmark of Solar Wimp says: it sounds twisted & awesome sean carnage says: Single Mothers seem to be cut from the same cloth as Caroliner Rainbow, early Butthole Surfers and weird side of post-Syd Pink Floyd. I also hear audiophonic analogies to those jarring acoustic breakdowns that Kraut rockers like Faust used to throw into the middle of their albums
This Duo from Midland do really strange things on their instrument's, it's hard material for your ear's i think it's more art than music but some song's or part's of song's i really like.
This fine morbide sound let groove your brain!!! Try it...a little diffrent kind of music...

"PIG makes a sick sound between spooky electronic beats and loops but also smooth desert rock parts, psych parts and sometimes it sounds like a doom band .A colourful cocktail of sound and everybody can find a song that he likes. I do not like every song on "Rise" but i can say that "Kali Yuga","Eater" or "Meinhof" will kick your asses out of town. Do it!!!"

...electric moon special...

Electric Moon
Germany
Psych Rock/Experimental Rock

Pablo, Sula and Lulu from Germany conjure a very special sound out of amps, toms, effects and a good idea behind the songs, 51 minutes in trance with "Inferno" or over 17 minutes with D-Tunes, smooth rhytms and chilling atmosphere, when i paint a artwork with acryl, mostly i hear electric moon and other psych/drone muisc. its not a music you can zapp into and show fast some guy, you must lean back and dive into the world of the three musicians.
In the link you will find the separate parts from Electric Moon.
they recorded 2010 the first part "lunatic", but the storage capacity was too small, then in 2011 came with the "lunatic revenge" after missing two titles, with another 2 songs. Also you get linkted the latest album of the band, it called "inferno" and also a psych album with
huge influence. You can buy it on Sulatron Records (Band Members own Label). Artwork by Komet Lulu, you can visit her on myspace here.

thanks to Sula Bassana and the hole band for the special music and the hard work behind the scenes!!!
