...your bad dream...dave sherman...

DAVE SHERMAN (BASS and VOCALS)
WEED IS WEED

SH: You're now in the musicbusiness for a long time. What would you say was the best time of your career and what are the moments you will never forget?

Dave: I would say one of the best times was warming up Deep Purple in 96 when Spirit Caravan was still called Shine . I'm going to write that on my tombstone: "Sherman Warmed up Deep Purple !!!"

SH: Your voice is pretty remarkable and unique. How did you manage to breed such a sound?

Dave: In Wretched (Hellhound records) i sang a lot cleaner back in 93 but nowadays i have more brutal grit in my voice but i can control it a lot better, just years of singing have taught myself what i can and can't do ....But in the end of the day i love Lemmy
( Motorhead )

SH: Spirit Caravan released two genius albums (Jug fulla Sun, Elusicve Truth). Will another follow soon?

Dave: Wino is so busy these day Saint Vitus Shrinebuilder my new band Weed is Weed just warmed up Premonation 13 they rocked ..We have talked about a reunion but until Wino is ready to do it can't say when it will happen .

SH: How about a europe tour? Will you give us a chance to see you live in Austria again?

Dave: I would like to but right now i can't see us Earthride come there maybe in 1213 !!! We are going to write a new record it will probably take a year to make it but we are re-release Earthride first ep with some live songs from Something Wicked and Vampire Circus .

SH: Which current stoner rock band can you tell me without searching on the internet?

Dave:Witchfield from Italy and ADD Hank III 's Doom band !!!

SH: What inspires you while songwriting? What would you say is the hardest part about it?

Dave: Words are hard to come up with for me .That's why Eric Little writes words for Earthride , riffs seem to come pretty ease got a fuck load of them !!!

SH: Which song of yours do you like playing live the most?

Dave: Fighting the Devils inside of you , Something Wicked , Earthride ,I like all the songs but people seem to love the hell out of the one's i named .Hank III been covering Fighting the Devil's on tour ....very honored let me tell you.

SH: What kind of equipment do you use to doom the shit out of our ears?

Dave: Matamp 120 , Guild guitars , Les paul jr , Orange 200 , Orange cabs , Matamp cabs , SVT Ampeg ,Rickenbacker basses , line 6 pedals , Orange 120 .

SH: What was your first record you bought and how old were you at that time?

Dave: My parents got me We sold our soul for rock n roll Black Sabbath when i was 13 years old it changed my life forsure .

SH: What can you tell us about working with Wino? What kind of guy is he?

Dave: It was awesome he's one of the best musician i know , he'll mix his talant with yours and it makes it cool , not that all musicians dont do that , but work with him is to me like working with a Wizard of Doom ....pure heavy as you get ...and he's very humble as well Hope to work with him again in the future forsure.

SH: Any words for the big world out there?

Dave: Look for my new band WEED is WEED coming Soon in 1212 !!! Thanks Dave Sherman

...stoner on the front....

STONERFRONT NIJMEGEN
 Nijmegen/Holland
 Instrumental/Stoner

Starting in april 2008, the STONERFRONT NIJMEGEN originally found itself in ever changing line-ups. And though many things were uncertain, one thing was not, the aural path which was to be followed. That being stoner, with flagship outfits the likes of Kyuss and Monster Magnet (their old stuff) as guiding lights. After the release of three tracks ('Supercar', 'World of Geeks' and '299.80') plus a performance at the zomerfeesten in Nijmegen (Holland), Peter Dragt (Bambix, Emperors) and Remco Verweij (Starfish, Barbarella) deceided it was time to put things in gear and unleash the front in the form of an instrumental powertrio. In John Munnich they found the bassplayer that they were looking for. The soulfull monolithic riffs, kick ass drumparts and tight bottom-end sprinkeled with tasty samples should be sufficient to take listeners on a testosterone trip. Make no bones about it! Stoner's the word we're looking for. Whilst originality is a thing which is put on the backburner.
During the first weekend of april 2012 Stonerfront Nijmegen will record their first Ep/7 inch in the famous Void studio in Eindhoven.

Members:
Drums: Peter Dragt
Bas: John Munnich
Gitaar: Remco Verweij

DESERT STORM
BURIED IN SMOKE RECORDS
Stoner Metal

UK stonerrockers Desert Storm boast gigantic riffs, sludge and blues grooves. Their recent release, Forked Tongues, features a vast dynamic range.
The five piece operation based in Oxford first formed in 2007, hitting the local rock scene with full force. Now having torn up multiple cities across the UK and festivals such as the mighty Bulldog Bash; on top of playing with the likes of Orange Goblin, Taint, Weedeater, Zoroaster, CKY, Winnebago Deal, Firebird and Black Spiders they're well underway spreading the NOISE.

'Desert Storm come on like the much-missed Four Horsemen on Forked Tongue, that's true.. It’s stoner rock, but with a real biker groove, and songs doused in testosterone and then set on fire...hell yes!.'

"Forked Tongues scores with a lot of groovy stoner metal riffs and a juicy energetic sound,
the mixture of the acoustic and hard and rough songs remind me sometimes on:
Clutch, Down, Seemles, Demonic Death Judge or Rocketchief...
check it out now here and get ass kicked from Desert Storm

...sahara dudes release theyr second piece...

 Stoner Rock
Austria
Sound Zero

About a year ago the Sahara Surfers, a stoner rock band from Innsbruck (Austria), released their first album "Spacetrip on a Paper Plane". Now, a year later their second record "Sonar Pilot" was released on Sound Zero Records. In their time of existence the Sahara Surfers really made a name for themselves nationally and internationally.
They have a new and special way to interpret stoner rock. The sound kicks ass on the record as well as live and the female vocals work perfect with the hard riffs. Both records of the Sahara Surfers are kind of earwig-music but decide on your own if it's the sound for your ears.

Propofol Angels and Scott Hills Brother?

Sedated Angel have, since the release of their previous album "Far Beyond Repair", achieved a status as one of the leading bands in their part of the rock genre. Due to the overwhelming interest Sedated Angel released the EP "Dirty Goin' Down"

With their different approach to the genre they have created yet another release of the highest quality After the release of their previous album, "Far Beyond Repair, " which received great critical acclaim, Sedated Angel have played more than 60 concerts and toured both Denmark and Germany. It is therefore a strong and well-playing band, who are ready to tour with their new album "Dirty Goin 'Down".Sedated Angel puts on a must-see, sublime live performance! Backed-up with live psychedelic projector shows that fills the stage with diverse visual effects, thus adding to the spectacular energy-filled performances. They cut no corners and gives it all when it comes to presenting their unforgettable concerts. Sedated Angel keeps the audience on the edge and takes them through a highly entertaining show.
The band consists of experienced musicians with a long gig history. Rhythms are heavy, in your face, and played with exceptional energy! The music has surprising original changes, up-tempo riffs and psychedelic parts that will blow your mind, leaving you thirsty for more! The songs are written by the closely-knitted Daniel and Christian; both guitar players that sing lead and possess an ever-present connection whilst performing. Lyrics are written by Christian, Daniel and Iversen, with a past of human tragedy, drugs, life and death as points of reference (Dirty Goin' Down, Drug Shovel, Takin' It All, etc...).

The musical inspiration comes from such names as: Fu Manchu, Clutch, Nebula, Kyuss and Mondo Generator. They have created their own no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point, raw rock ear candy. Yummy

Sedated Angel is part of a bigger collaboration with roots in WATERPUNK PRODUCTIONS. A collaboration, working for more originality and towards more open-minded ideas and projects.

Christian Christensen: Vocal/Guitar
Daniel Kristensen: Vocal/Guitar
Tommy Iversen: Bass/Backing Vocals
Tommy Skouboe: Drums/Backing Vocals
Nicolai Niemann: VJ

GET YOUR OWN ANESTHESIA HERE

4 playful songs and a true classic stoner style, its strongly reminiscent of the old FU Manchu Stuff, the voice is strongly reminiscent of Scott Hill in some parts on the album, but thats no problem, this band has big balls and they know how these balls has to roll.
Enjoy it...

Nasty Sludge

Cultura Tres
Venezuela
South American sludge/ doom/ psychedelic

Now hailed as the national rock/sludge pride of Venezuela, Cultura Tres came from
far. With the first EP "Seis" (2007) the band already outgrew the South American
continent. But only after releasing debut album "La Cura" in October 2008, the
band started to get noticed worldwide. During the preceding year of rigorous
composing, Cultura Tres incorporated many influences into their sound, ranging from
sludge to doom metal and from death metal to classic rock.
Important magazines in Europe and Japan praised “La Cura” for its dark and
original music, and Metal Hammer magazine even selected Cultura Tres as the
month's global discovery. The release tour took the band for 18 months across
Europe, South America and to the first well-received shows in Japan. During that
period the band also released three video clips that gained them a world-wide cult
following in the underground doom & sludge scene (for example being featured band
on Doom Metal Alliance, Stonerrock.com and HeavyPlanet.com).
In the summer of 2010 the members locked themselves up in the studio to prepare
the second album: “El Mal del Bien”. The result is - in the band members’ own
words - “an album with a single clear direction”. Cultura Tres delves deeper into
the dark atmospheric vein that already showed itself at moments in debut album
La Cura. The daring album opener “Propiedad de Dios” sets the mood: it sounds like
the soundtrack of a tragic cult movie. The songs that follow evoke the witchery,
slavery, oppression and religious madness that influence the South American
continent to this day. Being a concept album adds another dimension to the
individual songs. A patient listener will be dragged into a hallucinating trip around
the insane world the album paints.

The Artwork the whole album concept is very awesome....dark and nasty, great work and really angryfucked up sludge/doom/stoner with a touch of Soulfly and Trash influence from this nice dudes, in future I can imagine in CULTURA TRES and i hope i can see them sometimes live, i want to know how the sound live works. Respect and honor to this band...so get the great album "El Mal del Bien" ...because its good for you!!!
