...no vaginaflesh...

Stoner/Sludge/Doom
Rojek Wizard
Poland
We started to play in 2008r. At that time we were under big influence of New Orleans stoner/sludge scene, so our music used to sound more like Down, CoC, Superjoint Ritual, Crowbar. Music from this period of our excistence is represented by Demo Flesh and Bones, recorded and released in 2009. After that we moved more in sludge, doom metal genre, but we are not aware of putting some blues, progressive or core elements in our songs. Represetantive for our musical presence are two last releases : EP Skibidibi and our first LP - WOOD. Sounds more like Mastodon, Eyehategod, Crowbar, maybe even Neurosis (sometimes). Anyway, Vagitarians is not only a band, it is an institution closely connected with Ceremony Booking - concert agency which contains two members of band.

CB is responsible for Stoner Ceremony and Feel The Doom events. These periodical events are chance for the best polish underground bands, which plays stoner/sludge/doom music to show up in front of an interested-in community. Bands like Blindead, Belzebong, Major Kong, O.D.R.A, Merkabah, Elvis Deluxe are representative for polish underground scene. Furthermore Ceremony Booking was a promoter of polish gigs of bands like Weedeater, Church of Misery, Karma to Burn, The Flying Eyes and more...

...Double feature...

SIENA ROOT
and
TORSO

13.03.2012
ARENA VIENNA
Torso in Action
A great stonerrock day started with a cardrive from Salzburg to Vienna. A hole bunch of crazy drivers and (measured in beer) 5 liters later we arrived in our capital. After rollin' we were ready for the rockin'-part but the arena was not ready for the SHLGYBT-team -yet! An hour in the "Arena Beisl", which saved our asses from freezing, the gates of the "dreiraum" opened too and the night could begin. It was nice to see that a surprising number of stonerheads for a Tuesday found the way too. TORSO began to heat the crowd. These four guys from Vienna play groovy stoner with a lot of: 70s-style, effects, all phaser, delay, wah wah and a lot of fuzz.

DOWNLOAD THE LIVE PHOTO PACKAGE HERE

On the record the band convices with a nice production, good songwriting and the fitting soundmaterial. Back to the dreiraum.. At first taken a close look at, they could thaw the audience after a few songs. But they didn't manage to bring the real pressure, what could have been the fault of the livinroom-amps and kind of  popy vocals . All in all they definitely were a nice opening act and i could rock to songs like "Hounting Witches", "Inside". I got hungry for thirst.. so beer..

...after a short break also the stars of the night entered the stage  - SIENA ROOT. They began with instrumental songs like "Bhairavi" and "Jog" from the record "Different Realityis" and of course "Root Jam".
...the crowd did clearly enjoy the show from the first second. Sound engineer did a nice job and the sound was blowing minds - like on the record. Then the Led Zeppelin grove in "Good and Bad", the singer jumped on the stage and the hole dreiraum started to dance.
"Mountain I, In the Desert, Over the Mountains"and other genius Siena-songs rocked until the bitter end. The guys clearly enjoyed the gig too, said good bye with a smile and left us satisfied and exhausted.

Equipped at the merch against the cold and off to the car and back to the secret SHLGYBT-office. Conclusion of the day: 2 nice bands, a lot of beer, good sound and a ridiculous cheap entry are the reason for

STONER/DOOM/SLUDGE
D.I.Y
Italy

Blood Red Water formed in the summer of 2010 with Michele (vocals, ex grindcore bands: NAB and Grunter Screams) Fiorica (ex and bass player in Blank Symbol, now at the drum). Michele & Fiorica were longtime friends, drinking partners and united by the passion for sludge music so they decided to create something wicked.
Immediately Francesco “Volt”  joined them as guitarist and feedback noise junkie, so Mick, Fiorica and Volt started to create their music as Blood Red Water.
Tarantula as bass player joined them after few months.

For Blood Red Water it became clear that the band would not be the umpteenth cover band in the zone but their interest/purpose is writing the music they like and feel.
All members love bands like EyeHateGod, Eletric Wizard, St. Vitus (list of musical influences is long, very long) but - jam after jam - they realized to not belong to any particular genre. Some tunes are pretty doomy, other tunes could be more into stoner stuff.
Blood Red Water lyrics are a merciless portrait of what can save a life or ditch it. Far away from fantasy themes, lyrics give off Michele’s life experience; you can even find redeem words as well as the deepest dopesick despair.
At the end of 2011, they entered at the Flameout studio and they did their first 5 songs EP “Tales of Addiction and Despair”.

do it here

"If you have ever experienced addiciton and despair, then BRW's EP will certainly evoke those memories once more. This 5 song EP has a number of head thrashing moments,
followed by skull crushing riffs and yells that will destroy the walls of 'Dopesick Despair' that this album buries you in. BRW stands on the shoulder's of giants in the genre
such as Eyehategod and Electric Wizard and carry the torch onwards and downwards into that pit of blood red water.
A standout track that shows versatility that BRW possess is 'Avoid the Relapse'. This tirade is moshy, dirty and highly addictive. This EP is like your next hit, it will peel your eyes open, make you weak at the knees
and wanting another fix. It's time folks too 'Let the Blood In'.

JAW HORSE
Blues Sludge
USA

In the year of our Benevolent Lord, 2011, A small band of like-minded, stolid men decided to take up arms against a tepid, robotic, and ineffectual musical territory. The Blues. Infuriated, aggravated, and mystified by the sad state of The Blues.
These men. First one KRAMER (G) , a man of vision. A man fed up with charlatans and the lackadaisical frauds dragging The Blues through the mud. He needed an ally. A man that possessed the same fire for true searing rock and roll. From the Deep South, bearing an SG louder, and redder then the Devil’s Dick, came Adam (G) Two soldiers. Bearing deadly weapons. Gibson. Fender. Locked. Loaded. Meant for business. Hell bent for action. Blood. Guts. Blues.

Two became three (PUGH -D) Thunderous, steaming, fury. Pounding the Earth and shaking the foundations. They were in need of a fourth. A man to ruin ALL men. A man to weave the stories of the world. To wield the weapon most dangerous and universally feared by all the weak minded men. Words. The words of truth and consequence. Enter SEAN JOVI (V)
These four, these soldiers of JAW HORSE bring their influences ( Sabbath, RL Burnside, MC5, Chuck Berry, etc,) to the battle for the soul of The Blues.

Hell bent for salvation. To break the elevator, easy-listening spell that has doomed the sweet sound. To save The Blues from fast food commercials, Christmas parodies, and to right the heinous deeds perpetrated by that dastardly evil Kenny G of The Blues. The motherfucker with the unpronounceable last name. A name which must not be uttered.
Face-melting, Hot rodding, Dick kicking, Date raping your mind, NITRO burning, funny car smashing, aeroplane crashing, HIGH octane BLUES ROCK AND ROLL to satisfy the soul. This is JAW HORSE.

Ride the Horse here

"Black Flag on Blues with some Danzig Influence...this guys are defiantly a monster live band and the sound is nice too but only nice...for me its a little bit to simple and to much rock'n roll attitude but some parts are really great...listen for yourself"

BABY WOODROSE
PSYCH ROCK
BAD AFRO RECORDS

Third Eye Surgerie
Baby Woodrose have just finished recording their 6th studio album entitled Third Eye Surgery and release is set for April 16th. But because we have maybe a timemachine we are one of the lucky people that already have it. Bad Afro Records, the releasing label, says "All Baby Woodrose albums have a different vibe and with Third Eye Surgery they have made their space rock album. For the first time Lorenzo Woodrose integrate the heavy psych of his side projects Dragontears and Spids Nøgenhat with the fine song writing of Baby Woodrose."

But still, it has this typical Baby Woodrose sound which gets mixed up with nice vibes from the sitar of Vicki Singh. Also there is the cooperation with Emma Acs in the Pop song Dandelion which is the second single of the album that was released 20.03.2012

Third Eye Surgery has been recorded in the Black Tornado studio in Copenhagen and is engineered by Anders “Evil Jebus” Onsberg and produced by Lorenzo Woodrose. The artwork is made by German artist Kiryk Drewinski.

THIRD EYE SURGERY REVIEW

1.Down the Button - Typical beginning of an original Woodrose song,
spooky and psychy
2.Waiting for the War - Deep Surf Psych Rock with some Pop in it
3. Dandelion - Great combination with Emma, awesome song
4. Its just a Ride - Very oriental  sound, confused atmosphere
5. Bullshit Detector - Nice title with big riffs and fast licks, my personal favourite
6. Nothing is Real - Oriental with Tambura and Sitha
7. Love like a Flower - Hippie Sound from the grandfather of psych
8. Third Eye Surgery - stompin' rhythms and a lot of freaky solos
9. Honalee - The grande finale with this awesome ballad a realy beautiful
song maybe for "sexy time"

All in all its a typical Baby Woodrose record with ups and downs and everything it takes to make good freaky psych rock album. Third Eye Surgery is a must have for all psych-lovers out there.
