...little lucifer...

LUCIFER BABY
HEAVY ROCK/HARD ROCK
AUSTRIA

After some band member changes and a new stylistic concept made out of the old Cachimbo de Paz "LUCIFER BABY" appeared as an incoming and fresh band with new members and a new concept.
The first loss maker comes in vinyl with three different colors and constitutes two first song's.
"The Walls are coming closer" and "The spell seems to be broken" give insights into the world of LUCIFER BABY and grant us some good feelings for the future. Cool melodies and ballads are intrinsically but suitable and fit great into the whole thing. The voice is forming and covers several parts. From nasally smooth parts to scratchy dark ballads it makes a spooky and occult feeling.
Live they are also a burner so if you have the possibility to see them. IT'S A MUST!!! Hopefully their full album is coming out soon and has some more melodic and formative song's ready for us.
Ear worm is guaranteed!

...Fruity Interview...

Interview with Hubert(Vocals, different other instruments)

How did you get the name „GO BANANAS“ and which goals do you personally pursue concerning the band?
Go Bananas means to get crazy, to lose your mind just like you have been bitten by a wild monkey. When we were making up our minds to find a good and fitting band name, we asked ourselves one What does it mean to us to make music?
The result was very clear: Music means to relax and just to lay down without obeying to any social rules. To cut a long story short, just to do whatever pops up in your mind, get rid of all the unimportant things in life and to listen to your inner inspiration!

How do most of your songs come to life?Do you have any precederues you keep to?
Mostly we get our songs out of jam sessions but also out of preconceived song structures, which have been developed by both of our guitarists, Woife and Aki. However, we do try to include influences of all our band members in order to get the right flow which satisfies the whole band.

What are your engines, your concepts, what do you stand for with your music?
For me, honest and handmade produced music always was one of the most important things. Music is part in every situation of my life, meaning that it does not only help me to deal with all the difficulties in it, but is also a welcoming guest which accamponies the good days in life. Therfore the most horrific thing to do would be living a life without music! Benefiting from the newest techniques and possibilities to produce music these days is kind of an engine enough to leave behind our own musical footprint.

How did the first tour go?
It was a long awaited and very funny life experience which definitely none of us wants to miss! We got to meet crazy and extremely hospitable people, all of them being unique and supporting the underground music. We have to say that we are very thankful for this great tour and want to express our gratitude once again to everybody who helped us getting through our tour, even though we did not have any contracts, label or managers.

What are the most important things to take with you whilst touring?
Name at least 3. First of all a whole lot of sound, a whole lot of light and a lot more of fun!

What was your first CD you have ever bought?
You definitely do not want to know that. At that time I was very young and therefore extremely dumb, also I had next to nothing. (My taste in music is not the same anymore, and I also grew older but that is all that has changed up to now) Name 3 of your favorite bands. For me, it is very difficult to do that, as there are so many great bands and my personal taste changes every now and then. There are bands which I do not listen to in years, and suddenly once again in continuous repetition. However, I would list the all time godfathers BLACK SABBATH on the first place, followed by Monkey3, Sleeping Karma and Space Collective. I know that I have named four bands, but in my opinion three are way too few. At last I want to mention that you should enjoy every band on Vinyl or if possible even live!
Do you have any rehearsal rituals?
Not really. Of course it is important to just get into a chilly mood, eat a few bites of whatever you like, forget about your jobs and problems and meet up with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine. Only when your mind is free, the music can start to unfold! However this is a long process which sometimes can even take up to 2 hours. This is probably the reason why our rehearsals last longer than usual.

What are the future plans of the band?
After having released our second album „Erutan“, which we have recorded all by ourselves, we want to hit the stage again and play as many concerts as possible. The plan is, to make people with our live music happy. If you are interested in any gigs, just write us! We are easy to handle and willing to join every party! Besides, we are looking forward every day to get into our chilly room, in order to write new songs and spend some nice psychedelic evenings in there.

Additional words for the world out there?
Take your time and enjoy the real things worth living in life! Be pleased by the nature and listen to handmade music, escape the stress of our society and support music which comes from the heart.

Big thank's to Hubert for this support and check them out on their facebook page here!

...made out of wood, earth and bones...

OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US
DOOM/SLUDGE/HEAVY PROG
AUSTRIA

You literally had to expect something extraordinary as well as impressive from this band from Salzburg/Austria and even people who are not in the know (yet) should quickly be made rejoice with excitement by this exalted showcase of musical extremes. OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US sits comfortably between the chairs and especially through this fact they create a mood that other bands often lack completely. Intense Spiritual Music is the label that was chosen by OSDOU themselves. There are tons of bands on this globe that are easier to discribe than OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US are, one who spends his time with Sludge/Core bands such as NEUROSIS, CROWBAR, ISIS, CULT OF LUNA or also older SLEEP is likely to enjoy this. Despite all this these bands and the comparisons connected to them are not completely exact.
Also, only a few will remember the first tries of OSDOU in form of the 2 track EP Breathe from 2000, and as you can easily imagine, a lot has changed since then, which is partly due to the logical development but which can traced back to the changed line-up on the other hand. Apart from guitarist, vocalist and founding member Mucho (ex-SOULSEARCH/MY MIDNIGHT
SUN) you will find to other SOULSEARCH heroes in the lines of OSDOU. After the split of the Doom Metal institution from Austria, Thom
(guitars/vocals) and Hajot (samples/noise) have found a much more appropriate home. Eventually the team is completed by drummer Mani and bassist barth who is known from BELPHEGOR. It is almost scary how homogenously this quintet works.
Wonderful acoustic sounds, pitch-black sound samples, minimum acoustically and the mourning and conjuring vocals of the two singers. The seamless change between the single vocal parts is exemplary and extraordinary.
Rage, sadness, bitterness, suffering and hate are only a part of the emotions that are processed and thus channelled with OSDOU. Besides mighty slow motion guitar walls roll out of the speakers, so that you are hammered into the ground without warning and try in vane to escape this force. The tribal-like drumming, which disappears into the background time and again, unresistingly pulls you deeper and deeper into the dark abyss and thus into the world of OSDOU.
OSDOU set an unignorable sign that can also convince completely sound-wise and should not leave anything to be desired even for pampered ears.
Furthermore another, quite daring decision makes OSDOU unique, as theirrecords will also be released as a vinyl version (in coloured vinyl), perfectly demonstrating the inner closeness to the old-fashioned record.

"Finally a band appears with a dirty, bloody and muddy face...OSDOU makes the perfect mix of hard sludge, slow doom and atmospheric post rock. Like a sledgehammer they pull out their massive riffs and build an exciting and melancholic mood. Driven by the sick society of our world, pregnant by nature and high on roots of the occult and true music. To the band it is very important to form a unit which can be heard in every song!. Texts to think and melodies to relax are on the agenda. "Painful stories told with a passion for life" is a brilliant example of the band and brings a full spectrum on dark heavy tunes for every one. Groove your hairy heads to this fat grooves of austrias next super wizards, because it's so fucking good for you!!!"!!!"

GREY CZAR
AUSTRIA
STONER ROCK/HEAVY ROCK

Grey Czar is a four member tinnitus generating monstrosity that derives its doubtful origin from the shadows of the howling cliffs of the austrian alps. What once started as a reason to retain one's youth by repeating one's follies quickly became an unstoppable machine that slaughters every aspect of modern music.

"The new four tracked album of the mighty stoner/alternative rock formation "Grey Czar" is available now on CD,Vinyl or as digital download on bandcamp. The record is more different and mellow than their debut album. I like to see the development of the band, they form and fiddle on their sound since 2012 and so now they have found a cool own outstanding, original sound , which does not meet the standard. Thats the reason why i like this band so much. . The quality of the record is very professional and comes full and heavy, Roland Hickmann doeas a great job on the vocals again, the riffs are heavy and fat, the solos and licks perfectly adjusted and the bass keeps roillin hard. The drumer as well punches the shit out of his stack. Exactly how it should be...Grey Czar points with a great stage performance and gleam as a good live act. You can see this guys on a show of SHLGYBT on 7.march together with the Black Rainbows in Salzburg at the MARK. On the whole I can only recommend „The Men Who Harvest The Sea“ is not only for long-established stoner rock listeners, this record will appreciate the whole family including your grandmother and her cat. My favourite track on this album:All"

...Hometown Heroes...

GHOULS COME KNOCKING
AUSTRIA/SALZBURG
TRASH'N ROLL

GHOULS COME KNOCKIN´ started their band career in the winter of 2006 under the name GODFORSAKEN in their hometown of Salzburg, Austria. Then the quintet, consisting of two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, and a singer, dedicated themselves to Swedish Death / Trash Metal and released two EPs, titled “Under Baphomets Sign“ and “Blood Night Fever.”
In 2008, drummer Sebastian Hübner found his way into the band, and still passionately torments the drum kit today. One year later, guitarist Stephan Hacek quit the band and the remaining musicians decided to continue as a quartet.
Over the course of time, the style of the band slowly changed more towards Heavy Metal / Rock ‘n’ Roll / Punk and the musicians decided to continue their career as GHOULS COME KNOCKIN´ in 2010. Two years later the EP “Death Rock Mayhem“ and numerous concerts followed.
Between 2009 and 2013, there were several changes in singers until bassist Janis Hacek decided to take responsibility for this part himself and the band continued as a trio.
Concerts with bands such as ZOMBIE INC, WARBRINGER, HAVOK, SKELETON WITCH, ANGELUS APATRIDA, PETER PAN SPEED ROCK, CALIBAN, OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US, among others, followed.
In 2013 the band released their current full length album “Dead Beat Glory,” which was recorded in the KK Studios in Salzburg. The album was completely self-produced. At the same time the first official music video of the song “Psychonaut” was shot, which was released at the same time as the album.
The style of the band is a smashing mix of Speedrock and Metal with catchy hooklines with a punky attitude, delivered in a suitably dirty manner.
The lyrics tell epic tales of rebellion, death, freedom, self-awareness and the occasional state of intoxication.

"It's not a shame to say that the ghouls play a kind of "motorhead oriented" music with a bit more fire and pressure. Also, the singer does not have that ugly wara in his face and they are as well able to play live and don't have to cancel their tour plans permanently. This guys from my hometown absolutely convinced meaning that also the debut album kicks ass like hell. It's a powerful engine with a double carburetor and a big tank full of whiskey...song's like "Dead Beat Glory", "Ghouls Nite Out", "Lucifer A.D" or the mighty song of the video "Psychonaut" make a good mood and motivate me to open a beer and switch the party mode on!
Tight and hard hitting drums, fast licks and shrill solos combined with a raw and angry voice : or in short term GHOULS COME KNOCKING! ...so watch out they are coming to get you!!!"

..TIME FOR ANOTHER BANANA...

GO BANANAS
AUSTRIA
STONER/PSYCH ROCK
A new album from the psych rock dudes of GO BANANAS is born and and is baptized "Erutan".
This second strike after the cool debut "I no seas" has more psychedelic parts and bursting with fresh energy and ideas. Funny song names like "Never buy Weed from an Alien for more than 382 Liters Water" or the awesome instruments they use in the songs are really pleasant and something new.The individual sound structures let the whole not be boring and one or another song with hit potential is to find on this compact disc of the yellowed fruits.

Some song's are in vernacular of Austria, the other song's are played in english...
The vocals are smooth, hold back and merge throughout the whole band.
The solo parts are very varied and playful, they pass through different worlds.
No value is placed on a fixed structure or to comply with any standards, also the design of the cd and the whole all around is very thoughtful.
The tour edition is made of a wood board and the CD comes in a cool Vinyl style, so it's possible to hang their album on your wall in your living room.
The final edition will come soon and can be ordered on their facebook site or via mail.
Give them a chance to fruit your day...

Stonecircus

STONECIRCUS
AUSTRIA
PROG METAL/STONER METAL

STONECIRCUS put rock music of the hard kind on a higher level. Far away from comparisons and
unnecessary currying favour they offer independence and uniqueness.
On their 2012 EP "Step Right Up" STONECIRCUS unite classical rock of the seventies, hardrock,
crossover and metal and reduce them to the smallest common denominator: powerful and
diaphoretic rock.
They themselves not really aware of their uniqueness, and this is why they are able to perfect what
other people only attempted to do.
Their music fills a gap that does not need an image. It is pure genuineness - unpretentious and thus
hitting directly into the pit of your stomach - STONE CIRCUS are always raw and pure musical power.
No Image. Just Balls.

...mighty western feelings from chango...

Chango
Austria
Stoner Rock / Stoner Metal

This is the proof, that Austria is in a real boom stadium of Stoner - like Bands. An Austrian Trio from Ebensee, attacks the world with his imposing music. The CD SCHNEEBLIND from 20012, recorded at the “Sunset Studio – Mallorca” kicks ass!!

Sure, it is an exotic way, to do lyrics in Austrian / German language. Especially for this kind of music. But that was the thing that really fixed me on! Text fragments that entered my ears like a meditation.. for example: “es duad no oiwei weh....” ; “duad glei neamma weh...”; “und dann is` nur nu sche... “, repeated again and again and.... AGAIN... are very artistically, but memorable too!

The Music:

SCHNEEBLIND contains 5 tracks. The most of them in a length of over 5 minutes. From the first track on, there is a high voltage energy, that crosses the whole production. Good mixed instruments and high audio produced. The Style first goes to Stoner Metal, then takes a ride to a bit of Alternative, than back to Stoner Rock and at least a kind of Psychedelic and Doom. Really a good mix I think!

GET IT HERE

The Songs:

01 Der Florist. The first track shows the whole range of the band. With a cool main riff that bangs your head!

02 Schneeblind takes the listener into the Austrian Alps, onto snowed hills.. or in your own frozen soul, a heart like a white mountain... aaah.. it really inspires me!! :-D

03 S'Weda... The shortest and maybe the weakest track on the CD. The short Guitar solo at the end was the best part for me on this track.

04 Phantomschmerz is the hardest track on the CD. Too bad I couldn't understand the lyrics.. :D but the music goes from a half time played riff into a triplet part and contains exciting breaks and stuff.

05 Liab - starts softly and slow. Like a sweet dream. It's a little psychedelic style on this track. For this reason i really like that song. Doom style played riffs and cool bass parts. The hard end is a good way to close the Album.

So, if you can tolerate the native Austrian language and the mantra kind of sound from CHANGO -SCHNEEBLIND, please give a ear to this band. It's really worth to listen to!!

...LOWBAU from Austria...

LOWBAU
STONER ROCK
AUSTRIA/VIENNA

Lowbau was formed in 2006 in vienna . The response to their first release, a full-length demo, titled „The EP“ (2009), was very positive and established their name in the Austrian rock/metal scene  In 2012, the band has recorded „A Darker Shade of Blues“....the first full alum and "A Darker Shade of Blues" will rock your socks of.

...stormy tunes...

Winding Path
Doom-Metal
 Austria

WINDING PATH is a Stoner Rock / Metal / Psychedelic rock band from Salzburg, Austria. They formed in 2005. According to their web site, they changed their musical style during the years and with different band members. They were said to play a more heavier doom oriented sound in their earlier days but unfortunately no albums exist from this period. Now I am writing about their current demo from 2012, simply called “Demo II”. Too bad I can't compare it to “Demo 1”, which would be interesting. First thing to say is that I liked their sound almost instantly! Which makes reviewing the demo rather pleasing. The two songs “A long trip” and “Brandt Nelson” each last 10 minutes but do not get boring or repeat themselves. They both have a good balance of natural heavyness and playful guitar solos.

“A long trip” features a really nice psychidelic acoustic intro and comprises more melodic passages. It also puts across a more meldic mood. “Brandt Nelson” has a more heavy riffing and is a “classic” stoner rock one. The main attraction of WINDING PATH clearly is their songwriting and guitar/bass play. Drums and the vocalist fit the sound nicely but in my opinion are not the main selling points of the band. Audio quality of the material also could be better, but well, it is a demo after all... Stoner Rock, Progressive/Psychidelic/70ies Rock dudes may like this demo as much as I do.
Guys looking for doom & gloom and a sound with more rough edges, may not find Winding Path as attractive. They are heavy still, but not as much as I would rate their sound as Metal. Looking forward for
Winding Path to finally get a label and the chance for a regular album!

BOOZEHOUNDS OF HELL
STONER METAL
AUSTRIA

This five guys from Boozehounds of Hell know how to rock and with the debut album "Anti Sober" they presents us a high quality 6 track album. In the great mix of metal, classic rock, punk and a breeze of fuzzy stoner rock. If you like Nashville Pussy&Co or if you know Alkbottle so you will like the sound of this dirty rats.

This dudes have shown often that they have big cojones and a hughe fist full of fat sound and great live performance. We booked them two times for a support slot, at first for FJODOR in Juni 2012 and again with KADAVAR in October 2012. Two times a  multiple orgasmic show with great live power.  Their sound is a mix between classical hard rock and a piece of  a nice stoner and fuzz sounds based on heavy blues riffing.
