Straight from Trevisio, Italy the power constilation of Andrea, Paolo and Diego release their third full lenght concept album named "I Ate Of The Plant And It Was Good" and it is directly conected to their forerunners "Docile" (2011) and "Love Is Blood" (2012). 

"They thought they were playing stoner, but people actually say they don't..." is their description quote on the genre line on facebook. That's right because it's not only simple Stoner Rock but high quality varied rock music with a interesting mix out of progressive rock parts, slower doom parts and driven portion hard rock and in the end there are also some stoner rock influences.

 I saw them at the Freak Valley Festival and i was really impressed by this nice guys from Italy. At the drive home from the festival i had the possibility to listen to their album accurate and had a lot of fun with this.

Song's like "Deeper Than Deep", "Ohcysprotom" and "Hang Glider" show the whole spectrum of their skills. Exactly this is what makes the band unique. They create their own sound and so they distinguish to all the other bands in this genre. I'm really happy about this discovery on the main stage at freak valley. The live show had a huge pressure and the progressive parts reminded me stromg on the band "TOOL", with a good feeling on stage and a great performance which they played and a  great set.  So they could impressed a lot of the people i think.

True to their roots, this powerful trio who performs a headstrong metal with roots deep in the impenetrable mire of the stoner/doom/sludge tradition nuanced with streaks of progressive rock, post metal and psychedelia. A wide blend of influences are entwined and results in an accomplished and coherent music that is as direct and powerful as it is multi layered and meandering. Names that are commonly mentioned in relation to Colossus are Mastodon, Neurosis, Kyuss and Tool to name a few.

Colossus have created a name through a series of intensive, well regarded gigs throughout Stockholm rock scene. The demo "The Mechanical Engineering of Living Machines" gave the band a huge following all over the world and the songs could be heard on radio stations and compilations throughout the globe. 

Now, a year later the follow up is due for release, enter three song EP "Spiritual Myiasis" filled with nearly 20 demanding minutes. With this release, which is the final step to the coming fulllength album scheduled this fall, the band aims to take the next step onto the established scene and spread their music to a bigger audience.

Two years on from the release of their critically acclaimed album II, Spain’s finest instrumental post-rock group Toundra return to the progressive fold with (III); an epic, brutal and beautiful new chapter in their career.

Opener ‘Ara Caeli’ sets out its stall and encapsulates exactly what the band has been about since day one. Pioneering grand and striking song structures with ideas behind each that explore issues surrounding life and death, they chip away at the melodic post-rock landscapes some might find comparable to Mogwai or Pelican, but under the surface (III) incorporates elements of even greater traditional influence. Their appreciation of classic rock groups such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin (check out the heavy folk and swirling string sections of ‘Requiem’) can be heard all over (III), interwoven into the progressive metal of ‘Cielo Negro’ and ‘Marte’, three albums in this is Toundra at their most impressive. A true musical force.

"III" is a beautiful album with a lot of psych parts but also big stomping riffs pared with post-rock and more psych and lovely smooth tunes...great musicians and a killer live band...the album is a must have for all fans of the post-rock and progressive metal. In one sentence i can say it comes like a harder version of my sleeping karma...so rock on and stay tuned...

"This Brooklyn three piece drones and trips their way through psychedelic acid rock based tunes like the old doors or the new Vibravoid. Traveling Circle comes together in a beautiful mash of spaced out influences but also old well-tried riffs like black sabbath with a bit of surf rock influences . Song's like "Forest Floor" are really smooth and have this certain something...also "Note Drops" are a really heavy song...in my opinion they are a better band-instrumental because the vocals sometimes are to conspicuously and drown important parts. On the whole, a wonderful album with plenty of good stuff...enjoy it here and order your own LP here.

I SAW THE DEEP

Surfaced in 2010.
Inspired by mythology, the paranormal and classic sci-fi, I Saw The Deep identifies itself by crafting cryptic, almost cinematic story lines into monolithic pillars of sound.
I Saw The Deep presents itself as a multidimensional experience. Originally intended as a solo project, all the production is done by vocalist/ multi-instrumentalist Darrell Laclé, as well as both the recordings, engineering and cover artwork.

Born and raised on the Caribbean island Aruba -now based in the Netherlands- Darrell tenaciously absorbs the darker side of the ocean and its mysticism in his compositions. This project, while still in its initial phase, has a steady concept which is portrayed through its music and imagery.
I Saw The Deep draws its influences from The Mars Volta, Mastodon, The Tea Party, Tool, Led Zeppelin & NIN. This reflects mostly in the fact that like all these groups before mentioned, I Saw The Deep carves a wayward path towards deeper layers of the psyche .

Now, with the first batch of successful live shows played both locally and overseas, I Saw The Deep has just released its debut album entitled “Astronavigation” -with Laclé himself behind the knobs and instrumentation. In the meanwhile an animation video clip made by visual artist Ken Wolff has been released for the song “Phantom Island”, which will be the first single of the album.
I Saw The Deep manifests itself live either in the form of a power trio -working with a select group of fellow talented musicians from different projects -or alternatively Darrell La Clé endeavors on solo acoustic tours, presenting a heavy yet stripped down atmospheric version of the same compositions.

"Fat riffs and a really good production for a self-made album. "Astronavigation" comes with a big spectrum of music styles...you have a lot of metal parts with progressive wings, deep and swampy doom parts mixed with a bit stoner. The nice ballads from master chief Darrell and the spooky parts  makes the sound complete. "Map Of Piri Re'is, Of Death And Dying, Oneironaut and Astronavigation" are my favourite songs on this mighty album, enjoy it...because its good for you!"

...are a  french sludge/noise band, BitterChupChupWeLose makes your legs smooth and loose.
The band was created in 2009 and they come from the city of Cahors.

Strange drum rhythms, minimalistic vocals and mad undergroundsounds.

They  released a 12" LP in 2010 and now they have released a 10" EP in co-production with their own label, "suicide commercial"
and "Piou Piou Records" from Toulouse.
Both releases are vinyls with silkscreened covers. 
note especially the following songs: Best Man On Earth, gallinaceous Modification, White Flower and my favorite "Rubber disinhibition," sometimes you think one listen to a QOTSA riff.
