I have current no infos about this band, i know that Stefano Matteoli has done the Artwork for the covers, but how much people they are and what their concept is...i don't know but who cares...at the beginning it's hard to find the way in their dark world but after few minutes of whistle,howl and resound they have conquer my sludgy dark heart and give me violent impact...if you listen to down tuned high gain music like Electric Wizard you will also like La Cuenta, enjoy the deep and dark chaosS)))))
There are some bands whose sound requires less of a description and more of a comprehensive lab test, and Newport’s influential Spider Kitten are most definitely one such band
Originally formed as a duo (sans drummer) back in 2001 by founding members Chi Lameo (vocals, guitar) and Ptew (effects) it didn’t take long for the band to acquire an audience, and with it a cult reverence that over a decade on continues to stretch beyond the South Wales doom scene.
Destroying PA systems and lysergically lacing drone metal with onstage visual projections in support of groups such as Taint, Firebird and Suns of Thunder, since their 2003 debut _LP (Underscore) Spider Kitten have put out a prolific number of recordings. From demos, EPs and split singles to full-length albums most have either been given away or shared around freely thanks to the band’s furiously DIY ethic and an ethos that is as raw now as it has ever been.

Spider Kitten have expanded their line-up in recent times to include respected noise merchants Chris West (ex-Taint) on drums, Rob Davies on guitar and Al White on bass, and their latest album Cougar Club is not just a product of their now veteran status but a culmination of eleven years of experimentation. From the opening eerie swell and crushing grind of ‘Twin Obscenities’ to the classic motoric rock groove of ‘Burdened’ and doomy 70s progressive closer of its title track, this is without question Spider Kitten’s most complete and ambitious recording to date. A total blast for everyone who has waited for it, a reminder to those that might have forgotten, and the biggest kick in the head for those yet to hear how awesome they are, and have been for a long time.

Somber tones, whispering vote and rhythmic percussions...a skit! Black Hole Yeah a amp sound like High on Fire and a power vocal like Tool... Unfortunately... far too short. Kuelmaggah Pt. 1 Dark and spooky tunes at the beginning, the first part of Kuelmaggah and i will hear more!! Motheria A stomping deep riff and dark a atmosphere shape the song for a really good last track.
"SATURNIA has a big potential and i hope the following albums are also heavy like their first strike...great songwriting and the whole concept of "Kuelmaggah Mysticism: The Prologue" comes very professional. The vocals reminds me on Tool or Priestess and are a little bit monotonous with the time.
Some songs are too short for me and I lack a climax. But overall a great album!!!"

That's Undersmile - a dual-female-fronted sludge/doom band from Oxford, England.
They've been together since 2009, released their debut EP 'A Sea of Dead Snakes' in 2010
(Blindsight Records) and released this split EP (affectionately nicknamed the Undertaker EP)
with their good friends Caretaker, a post-hardcore band from Winchester, England.
They've just finished recording,
mixing and mastering their debut album Narwhal which will be
released on Future Noise Records in May 2012.
It was mastered by sludge legend Billy Anderson.
This year they already have tours of England and Holland booked
(playing alongside such great bands as Conan,
Cultura Tres, Serpent Venom, Wizard's Beard, Witchsorrow,
Banda de la Muerte, Sigiriya and many more)
and they hope there will be a few surprises along the way too.

Today i will present you the band "STONE ANGELS"...the new band of my homey Steve Bell also known for Second Gear Grind and his big smile...ha ha...so time to start:
Stone Angels", hailing from the ruins of Christchurch, New Zealand. This band plays a blackened style of haunting sludge metal. Influenced by all corners in the genre; From the classics like Eyehategod & Electric Wizard to the distinct & hateful sounds of 16, Iron Monkey & the more recent Cough. Nothing too original, but great nonetheless. The overall sound on here has a really "doomed" feel too it in combination with a more death/ growlish approach to the vocals. Gave this one a few spins and it kept me coming back for more. Now the first record is out now, called "Within the Witch". What a great new band, what a murder album...hurry up and start to listen...

The new Aathma album: "Decline... Towers of silence". It´s a concept album which revolves around the Towers of Silence, funerary structures used by the followers of the prophet Zoroaster. According to their beliefs, human cadavers are impure and should not contaminate the earth. For this reason they are moved to the Towers of Silence so that the vultures may devour their flesh and the sun can bleach their bones until they are dust. But the progress spiral in which we currently find ourselves is hopelessly disturbing this civilization, as these ancestral constructions are being absorbed by the big cities. The problem is aggravated by the near total extinction of the vultures that formerly carried out that purifying task. And this is, in band´s own opinion, a metaphor for the real fate of human beings: self-destruction.
“Decline... Towers of silence” was recorded and mixed by Carlos Santos (Hamlet, Adrift, Toundra...) at Sadman Studios in Madrid. Mastering has been carried out by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, who has previously worked with bands such as Opeth and Enslaved.
