"After the first minutes of the intro, i'm sure that "Domadora" will make you happy with some real trippy song structures and interesting worlds of psych tunes. Especially the jams(Domadora Jam, Ziggy Jam) are a true joy for your ears.

The whole album feels like a jam in a timeless room through the ages. On the other hand some song's exhibit a fixed song structure. However, the album definitely has an atmosphere and makes you long for more. 

Tibetan Monk is a varied album and listening to it is like reading a good book...you have to hear beetween the tones to hear the message behind such a kind of sound - absoulutely recommended!"

These 6 psych-heads send your mind into outtaspace and beyond by creating some meditative psychedelic high-class stuff...

Space rock at it's finest.

Their newest record called „The fabled voyages of the Sendelicans“ include 6 songs.

With „Standing on the edge“ they warp you into their orbit.

A Heavy guitar riff combined with hypnotic effects and some mid-tempo drumming.

After this one you'll be pretty hyped for some more to come.

„Manhole of the universe“. 11min Masterpiece. Reminds me of a rough version of Samsara Blues Experiment or even a space-rock version of Tia Carrera mixed with some White Hills.

Updiving from endless delay-riffing they get into a groovy, slow kraut jam. Improving their outtaspace character by getting quiter and shortly more effect-accentuated just before setting up a solid psych-fuzz-wall again. Coolness and highness factor at least 9/10.

 

„ZHYLY BYLY“. Way more electronical and a bit comparable to some slower Ozric Tentacles parts. Get lost in endless space-fogs.

„Screaming and streaming into the starlit nite“. Lee Relfe on sax. Really nice harmonics for some lonely midnight milky way cruising or some sky picknicks.

„Carningli (Hill of angels)“. This one's more into ambient creating atmospheric dreamscapes.

And the last one „Spaceman bubblegum“. Ready to shake your hips? Groovy as hell. Here they come back to their distinctive mix of experimental-, psychedelic- space rock.

High n Hell oh again Stonerheads!

GRIT are from Heidelberg / Germany and plays heavy psychedelic rock with a heartfelt jam-based approach to songwriting and perfonmance.

They currently recordet an EP-sized demo, which is freely avbailable in digital form on their homepage!

I never heard from this Band before, so i was very amazed about their first EP.

The Cover itself inspired me to climb up the snowy hills... (no not what you think! …ok maybe on first sight hehe) crap ...no i want to sit up on the top of the Hill and Chill. Flying high with this windy, nature, psychedelic carped ride.

„First of it All“ is the right name for the first track and starts smooth with some nature sounds and melodic guitar playing. After that, a cool ska riff kick up the whole thing and let funk the fuck of.

A Sabbath like riff inlay brings us a awesome break till the next melodic psychedelic guitar orgy starts again. The Drums are very impressing on the whole album and deffinetliy rounds up to the concept.

The second Track is the same scheme but starts more oriental and fuzzed up.

At the middle of „She“ they get a bit harder, and at the end deeper and slower.

A Didgeredoo rings in the end and let us still in this deep nature ambient vortex wich is over the whole EP.

The „Rhizome Dumpster“ is another Chillout Track with smooth melodics and right placed breaks which are perfectly in touch with the growling bass and drums. The Stuff remembers me a little bit on Hypnos69, Tumbleweed Dealer or Colour Haze but like i always said... clearly different :-)

Yeaaaahhhh now fasten up your Seatbelts.... here comes last but not least my favourite Track on this Baby: „Try Zen“

The experiment goes on... it gets more heavy and doomy, when the song starts.

Some strange sounds and samples show us a panorama of a desert or something. It feels like the sun burns down and the water is out... only the tunes keep us alive for a few minutes. The bassline and drums kicks us back in time. Weired delayed tones leading us the way to the end, but before the Album is over they kick our asses again with some fine Stoner Riffs.

The EP is well-made and for me a really good entry into the Gates of Stonerland!

The whole Project is instrumental and don´t need a Vocalist, it is perfect how it is.

For my opinion their could be more doomy parts like we can hear in „Try Zen“ but for sure thats a question of taste. And there is no Material in the www. Hard to find pics, or any Info about the Band. Thats very sad because, they really show their potential on their first EP.

The mixing and mastering seems to be selfmade and is very good, no barriers for enjoining their sound LOUD!

Dunst met each other for the first time in 2009, also the band was founded in this year. After having already played some gigs nearby Berlin, they finally recorded their first album at big snuff studios, which was given the name „Dunst“. In 2012, the 2nd album „Archimedes Waffen“ followed, which is also a basic element in the liveshows. Dunst does a great work on their instruments and keep the songs work well, however especially the mood fits the whole album. Just like the artwork also the songs convey a sacred thing. Personally I think, that the sound and the song's are very epic and enthralling for an instrumental band, as it is hard to make music without vocal parts (if you don’t want your listeners to be bored). Concerning the influences, it is clearly some kind of a Krautrock band like early rock bands (60´s & 70´s Can, Kraan, Rush, Agitation Free, Camel, 2066 And Then, Cream.) I’m really looking forward to see them live in the near future...

Vintage Cucumber from Germany/Berlin do a very weird sound, they mix a lot of samples with many effects,loops,randoms and other psychful modular special effects. "Yoki Style" has a lot of ...I call them once noisy songs...sometimes spooky and strident and then on the other hand very reassuring and peaceful(maybe my mum can do a meditation and swim with some dolphins in the sea and become a mighty turtle whisperer)but also some really cool tracks with fixed structures you can find on this record. Song's like "Das Mönchsgebrabbel" or "Alles in Butter"(A very funny song with 80's mood and it reminds me on the band "The Wooden Ships"). Enjoy the album and have fun...and get a good old german krautrock mood...

The DEAD END FRIENDS were founded in 2009 as a two man team (Markus - bass/ Daniel – ex-drummer). After some sessions, the line up was finally completed: Markus - bass, Christoph - guitar, Michi- 2nd bass, Daniel - drums. These 4 guys toured for one week in 2011 and released their first EP.

However, after Michael and Daniel left the band, a new drummer, Phil, as well as a new guitar player, Michael the II joined the band, giving all the best for it up to today.

With a fresh and motivated line up, they already toured for two weeks, playing their new album „Black Mental“. ... they are looking forward to kick your asses on the next few upcoming live shows in Austria!

Los Asteroide is an instrumental psychedelic stoner rock band, they sound like a diverse Radio Moscow if they themselves were an instrumental band. By diverse, I mean they have a great balance between the slow psych parts and their fuzzed out heavier riffs even within one song. 

 

Although it doesn’t quite reach the level of heaviness that bands like Sonic Flower or Karma to Burn have, Los Asteroide definitely stands out among these other bands because of this balance. Los Asteroide hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Palmer Generator is a Band born in Jesi/Ancona (IT) in spring 2010, thanks to the collaboration between Tom Palmer (the guitarist), his brother Michael (at the bass) and Matt (behind the drums. He's the son of Michael). The idea was to produce a stoner/alternative rock sound delineated by aggressive rhythmic and enriched by experimental cue with dreamlike reference, psychedelic and post-rock influences.

Sharing the same experiences of life they decide to join their musical abilities. 

Letting the melody flowing between the wide empty spaces of their neurons, they translate their mind-trips in long music travels, and thanks to a great flexibility in the composition of music, moving inside their sound, they can develop truth different musical landscapes.

"I love this trio of family members who create such a fat wall of sound. The album "(e​)​motionless" begins with a showering sleepy intro, sounds interesting...the full first track comes with a drone riff and forms to a very smooth psychy part with exotic instruments and a lovely atmosphere. In the next seven song's you  can experience lots of good moments...the singing does not convince me...but too bad it is not.

My favourite song's:"Enliven, Jargon and Sleep" let my tympanum vibrate...that makes good mood.

The sound is muffled, but heartily...so get your free and enjoy!"

If you like band's like Aqua Nebula Oscilator, Kadavar, Electric Moon or old band's from the seventy's you will love Ruby the Hatchet too.

The band members harmonize very well with each other and that you can hear on the record.

Under flours with a lot of guitar effect's,whistle, beep and of course with a handful of great heavy rock riffs. "Ouroboros"in whole a very good tape

  with all the characteristics of good music taste.

A nice start with a nice psych rock song, sometimes to much information's for my brain but actually good.

02. Enormous - Fly Low Dragonfly

Enormous sound's a little bit more interesting for me but the end is also without a structure, but not bad.

03. Insider - Dark Age

"Dark Age" is a 13-min space oriental folk track with bongo's nice playful guitar solo's and other cool instruments create a nice atmosphere...reminds me sometimes on Hawkwind, Gila...like this old Kraut Rock Stuff...nice!!!

04. Motopolkablacksamba - Astroblues

What a sick name? I want to hear the crowd who screams the bandname...i think that would be funny...to the music i can't say that this band is very stressful and undefined but some people will like this sound.

05. Trip Hill - Fever

Trip Hiil is a one-man project (Fabrizio Cecchi) including this nice percussion sound with a dark and smooth guitar full of hall. Nice song to chill.

06. Anuseye - Thirst For A Fix

The first song with a stoner foundation, great driving song with nice guitar lick's and a big retro rock touch. defently one of the best song's for me on this sampler.

07. Otehi - Sea Witch

The romans are coming...Otehi create a fat and full sound. The track start's very smooth and  the athmosphere seems very flowery...from all over and over again there are new sounds to. Nice song but normally they blow your head of, eat your brain...One of the best song on this sampler.

08. Epstein Superflu - The War Inside Darktown

The first thought was...Iggy Pop...but the name of this band is "Epstein Superflu", i don't have a problem with that...it's a fucking good rock song with the only exception that the recording sounds a little far away.

09. Perizona Experiment - Santa Canapa

"Santa Canapa" is a epilepsy producing 10 min song where a lot of styles are blended creating a very creepy mixture.

10. My Brand Is Grass - Dolce Ginocchiata

A bright acid surf rock sound...the sun shines on my belly...smooth and groovy...nice song.

11. ZiZ - ZiZ

Hmmm...I'm a little surpised about the running of the structure of this song, is rather nothing for me.

comes easy to me electronically and 80's disco style...

12. No Strange - Pogaridade

The Final Song could be named "Final Song" because here to the end, it fits well..hahaha

...drunken indian's talking with whale's...i don't know.

At all "Hofmann's Kaleidoscope Vol. 1 - Expiation of the Psychedelic Hunters" is a nice compilation and a fine way of exploring the Italian psychedelic underground.

Bright Curse's story begins when Main Row, singer and guitarist of Soul Manifest,

 decides to leave the north of France to live in London.

He finds a friend, Sam, together, they rebuild the band with two other musicians (Harry & Karen).

Unfortunately, after many changes of drummers, energy slows down.

The original line-up has been altered so they choose to stop the adventure. Nevertheless,

Main Row and Sam decide to create a new band, darker & fatter.

Their friend JB Pilon (who handled the recording of Bright Curse's EP) introduces

 Zak to them, a French drummer from the metal scene !

A gig at a private party, few psychotropics and a practice later,

 the alchemy was in the air. Bright Curse was born !

Two years on from the release of their critically acclaimed album II, Spain’s finest instrumental post-rock group Toundra return to the progressive fold with (III); an epic, brutal and beautiful new chapter in their career.

Opener ‘Ara Caeli’ sets out its stall and encapsulates exactly what the band has been about since day one. Pioneering grand and striking song structures with ideas behind each that explore issues surrounding life and death, they chip away at the melodic post-rock landscapes some might find comparable to Mogwai or Pelican, but under the surface (III) incorporates elements of even greater traditional influence. Their appreciation of classic rock groups such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin (check out the heavy folk and swirling string sections of ‘Requiem’) can be heard all over (III), interwoven into the progressive metal of ‘Cielo Negro’ and ‘Marte’, three albums in this is Toundra at their most impressive. "III" is a beautiful album with a lot of psych parts but also big stomping riffs pared with post-rock and more psych and lovely smooth tunes...great musicians and a killer live band...the album is a must have for all fans of the post-rock and progressive metal. In one sentence i can say it comes like a harder version of my sleeping karma...so rock on and stay tuned...

SOUL THIEF formed in 2009 when Robert Mathews joined Stuart Barton & Marcus Gage for some sessions they had been working on.

An immediate creativity was sparked with haunting etherial vocals and mighty pounding bass grooves. Guitars ripping up those riffs and shredding supernovae solos while drums thump like rocks being split as the band bring pieces to the brink of Armageddon and then lay them down again with sweet soul kisses.

Out of this union a music emerged that they referred to as Space Funk - mix of heavy psychedelic stoner space rock with the odd unusual time signature and a smooth aftertaste.
