The Lone Crows are a Blues Rock band based in Minneapolis, MN. With a

In the fall of 2012, Lansing Michigan metal rockers The Swill was formed
from current and past members of Wastelander, Harbinger, Borrowed Time,
Ghost Tower, Trouble, Solace and Bert. Recording sessions began in
winter of 2013 resulting in the Thirst For Misery EP. Engineered,
recorded and produced by Kevin Kitchel and Matt Preston.
"The tape recorder is moving and the of my cabinets are wobbling. The Swill is rocking my living room and i'm sure my neighbors also have some fun with this. The short tape has a lot in it and brings me in a old known mood of old dirty metal,beer and motorcycles. The super group has a lot of experience and this you can hear on this album. The multi instrumentalist Brnabic and The
Cosmic Fellowship from L.A. released this new record called „Subtle Realms“ in
december 2013.
After the short intro „Voice of the spirits“,
some kind of native folk, they come up with „Transcendental wine“. Guitar power
directly in your face. Heavy beginning, then a bit more gently psychedelic
melodies before getting back into fuzzy guitar stuff. Getting back and forth.
Heavy, psych, some funk elements and so on.
„Throne of saturn“. Jazzy beginning interrupted
by a cosmic stoner part with great guitar riffin'.
Back to jazz drumming enriched with a floating
psychedelic guitar.
„Still...Tripping through time“. A fuzzy jam
through timeless galaxies. 6 min of brilliant guitar soli which find their way
back into some massive stoner giants. Pretty well structured stuff.
„Pearl“ got this typical summer vibe á la Causa
Sui in it. Nice melodies, especially the keys.
It's getting groovy with „Moongroove“. Gregos
Majda probably ate some green nuggets for breakfast.
However great bass line.
And also Steven Rubio (drums) as well as Dario Lapoma (keys) should be
mentioned in here. About the mind-blowing guitar playing of Eddie Brnabic i
already said enough so let's go further to „Waves“. Pure heavyness again. Lean back and
smoke some if you haven't already done so!
Back to 70's grooves with „Riff mountain“. Nice
title, nice song. In the end it turns to some stoner riffin' which is
everything else than average. The sound is fucking perfect. Punchy, fat and
powerful.
Last song „Death and resurrection“ starts a bit
oriental before getting back into some harmonical psychedelic floatings.

Killer Moon is a psychedelic journey of three friends throughout the
best years and times of our lives, reflected within our music. We are

Killer Moon was formed by Jesse Garza, Alejandro Santoyo & Amaris
Aviles in the summer of 2007 in Chicago. The group honed in on their
sound for about a year before deciding to take their talents to South
Florida. Garza, Santoyo and Aviles were in Miami for 2 years playing
shows and living under the same roof until the two decided to move back
to the Chicago on Thanksgiving in 2010.
Upon their
return to the Windy City, Killer Moon started playing shows at a break
neck pace. The trio has recently started touring in the Midwest and
continues to draw increasingly larger crowds in Chicago.
Killer Moon’s new album was recorded at Semaphore Studios and Electrical
Audio with producer and musical wizard Sanford Parker. Self Titled

Wreaking havoc with their forth Small Stone release, Sasquatch lead the way with their fiery brand of rock n' roll. Drawing on influences from 70's metal, rock, and psychedelia, the band falls somewhere between an amalgamation of Black Sabbath, old Soundgarden, Deliverance-era Corrosion of Conformity, Mountain, and a bastardized version of Grand Funk Railroad. Their songwriting approach is clear; keep the focus on the hook. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 2001 by Philadelphia transplant Keith Gibbs (guitar, vox) and Detroit natives Rick Ferrante (drums) and Clayton Charles (bass). Upon Clayton’s departure in 2007, the guys recruited Chicagoan Jason Casanova (ex-Tummler, Volume) to join the fold.
The band’s music has been featured on a variety of movies and television shows including the reissue of Clerks, FX’s original hit series Sons of Anarchy, A&E's Dog The Bounty Hunter, Jersey Girl, CW’s The Supernatural, and MTV’s Viva La Bam, Bam’s Unholy Union, and Rob and Big. They can also be heard on a number of video games including NHL 2005, American Chopper, and Monster Garage.
After shaking some walls with not one, but two, closely packed studio albums (conveniently named Sasquatch I and II) in 2004 and ’06, the power trio went subterranean until 2010 before resurfacing with a new lineup and propulsive third opus (entitled, you guessed it...III), to the relief of many impatient fans and the Small Stone Records Board of Directors.
The band’s newest album “IV” will be released on Small Stone Records in September 2013. Not that the quartet comprised of vocalist Johnny Lee, guitarist K. Raffah, bassist S. Rebelo and drummer J. Garcia, was born just yesterday.
In fact, Miss Lava has been snapping guitar strings, bashing drum skins, and tearing shins across the floorboards of European stages for half a decade already; having inaugurated their recording endeavors with a self-titled, blood-red vinyl EP in 2008, and quickly followed with their debut full-length album, Blues for the Dangerous Miles, towards the end of 2009.
These precocious portents of pulverizing power – fueled by more mega-riffs than Portugal had spawned since at least the inquisition – quickly gained Miss Lava domestic recognition via Loud Magazine, which named …Dangerous Miles one of the year’s top 5 Portuguese records, backed up by its readers, who also voted them one of the country’s top 5 bands.
Ed is a 40yr old custodian from
Boston, who has 2 kids and loves everything from the 70s: especially Sid
and Marty Krofft, Brady Bunch and station wagons. And then there is
Speck, a muslim/half-iranian who was born in 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland
but has lived in LA since 1983. He loves chicks with dicks, 80s VHS,
wrestling, 70s rock as well as funk. As they both loved Sleep, Sabbath
and Electric Wizard, they formed a band, and got the name by chance:
Speck was looking for something to put inside the kick drum in order to
dampen the sound. While doing so, he found an orange shag carpet that
reminded him oft he 70s Krofft Supershow. They started playing outside
anywhere they could, and eventually got to play at Uncle Rehearsal
Studios in Van Nuys, CA. Krofft basically is influenced by some of their
favourite bands: Grief, Fu Manchu.. however, Speck’s guitar playing
reminds a lot of Nirvana’s Bleach – altough his co-member Ed hates them.
Despite the fact that they sound great live, both of them say that they
don’t look cool enough to have a live show worth watching. What is
more, Ed never goes to live shows, because he is much more interested in
the recorded sound, also he is always fidgeting with the knobs as well
as changing the sound.
get it here "There is not much to say about Krofft, they make a kind of experimental Doom Metal, all arrangements are very chaotic but that's i think it's intentionally and absolute their style to make music. Simple and minimalistic drumwork and such a spooky sound what they create, after a time it's a little bit hard to hear but you can hear the motivation. From Muff's,Overdrives and Octavers on the Guitar, main thing is it is deep and booming...Check them out and get droned!!!
They say that anything worth doing is worth doing right. If you want it
done right then you have to do it yourself and that takes time. With
that being said, The Heavy Co. has wrapped up production on their first
full length record, Midwest Electric. It’s story is close to epic if
you consider that we are talking about a record that is a result of 4
hazy years of tears, writing, woodshedding, playing
live, recording and producing the whole damn production in-house to
yield 37 or so smoke and incense filled minutes of psychedelic guitar
rock haze that solidly stretches the limits of the genre that has been
come to be affectionately (or not so affectionately, depending on who
you talk to) known as “stoner rock”.
Let’s get a few things
straight. This record was never meant to be perfect. The tempos swell
and recede, the vocals aren’t necessarily in key all of the time, and
you’re going to hear some things buzz, but I can assure you...it sounds
exactly how it was supposed to. Originally Midwest Electric was
intended to be recorded on an 8 track tape machine, but Murphy’s Law
prevails and the damn thing broke right in time for tracking. THC went
ahead and took advantage of their digital recording capabilities to the
fullest, but underneath the layers of extra tracks is the sound of three
guys getting down in a room and jamming like they only got one take at
the thing. The other thing is while there is no doubt, like their other
“stoner” peers, that a huge part of THC’s sound is a throwback to the
classic rock of the late 60’s and early 70’s, it’s a modern rock sound.
The idea that their music is “modern” sets THC apart from most “stoner
rock” bands. It’s cool if a band relies on the amplifier theatrics of
the 70’s (who doesn’t love a loud riff through a wall of amps), but as
the guys say, “don’t stop now, there’s no time to cry”. Jimi Hendrix
was looking for a “new kind of blues” and The Heavy Co. are giving it
their best shop.
Midwest Electric isn’t a stereotypical “stoner
rock” record. It could have just as easily have been called “Midwest
Eclectic”. First off, there is a country twinge to the whole thing,
especially in the subtle twangy drawl that creeps into the vocal
delivery. Second, no two songs on the record really sound alike.
Midwest Electric moves from a driving hard rock number like The Humboldt
County Waltz to the lonesome guitar wail and lament of Neil Young to
the spacey drone of Sailing Towards The Setting Sun and the bluesy
fuzzed out doom of One Big Drag . The album’s seven songs are unique to
themselves but never out of place with each other. THC has
meticulously crafted a record that embodies the feelings of isolation,
paranoia, and general drudgery of existing in between the rows of corn
and how it contrasts with the hopes and dreams that come from the
transcendental experiences of those bored “different” souls that reside
there inevitably get around to having. That or THC just wanted to write
some songs so they could groove out and play some guitar solos.

Twingiant is a Phoenix, Arizona based loud and heavy band that formed in
the spring of 2010. To date they have released a full-length LP (Mass
Driver) and a 4-song EP (Sin Nombre) that were both self-financed,
produced and promoted. Both releases have received excellent reviews
via numerous blogs and fans alike.
Twingiant have played numerous local shows and also in support of touring bands such
as Pallbearer, Thrones, Satan's Satyres, The Atlas Moth, Saviours, St.
Vitus, Weedeater, Intronaut, Church of Misery, Black Tusk and even
Guttermouth. Twingiant also played both Denver Doomfest II and
Southwest Terror Fest in 2012.
Twingiant recently toured
this past Spring through the cities of San Diego, Los Angeles and Las
Vegas and were received well by fans of death metal, grind and even
punk! They will continue to play shows throughout the year and will be
releasing a split 7” later this year.

Purple Suns are a rock band from Neptune City, New Jersey. The project started as a conversation outside of a grimy punk rock show, and spawned into a furious trio which has played from the basement to the city in less than 6 months. It is a trio consisting of Jay Hernandez, formerly of What About Frank on Guitar/Vox, Tanmay Buch, of A/S/L, on bass and Jon Troncone, of Overstand on drums. The vision has been to blend chaos with peace, noise with harmony, and the ugly with the beautiful.

This classical formation of an typical stoner rock trio comes with a traditional stoner rock attitude...driving rythms with drop C tuned guitars, powerful simple drums with a rousing stomp and text's about ...time to wip with your legs to this sound. Its almost nothing revolutionary but it works good and i had a nice time while listening. A really nice first release and that for no money...grab'em and give them a listen because it's delicious...

Founded on 9/9/2009, The first recordings were a solo effort that couldn't progress from a Computer chip to a live setting without help from more than 1 or 2 musicians aside from Diego. Long time friend C. Tover AKA "Jvdas" was unwillingly harmonically drafted to join as Sonic Wizard into the tutelage of Sonic Shamanism at Dissension Without Borders Academy.
Dissefacto; is more or less, the vessel with which to attempt to form a path towards the collective unconscious of our Internal psyches. The Etymology of the Name comes from the true meaning of artistic and personal freedom with personal moral honorific boundaries. These Proclivities may be deemed pretentious to some, but we honor our musical lineage and integrate it to the Music.
"Ok let's say something about this band...Dissefactor is difficult to classify, they have basic forms of metal, sludge and doom part's and a lot playful parts with delay and other psych effect's.But to be honest the music is not really for retribution. I lack the forceand the accuracy, for example in some song's the delay is not adapted from the tempo and there are also some wrong notes on this record. For a demo CD it's ok but not for sale.
So at the end i can say it's a album with nice idea's and song's but the implementation is just too immature...let's wait for the next upcoming track's and let us see whether an improvement shows."
Ruby the Hatchet is a four headed band from Philadelphia and they make truly nice psychedelic rock. Jillian give's with their voice a extra note on flavour of good retro psych mood.
If you like band's like Aqua Nebula Oscilator, Kadavar, Electric Moon or old band's from the seventy's you will love Ruby the Hatchet too.
The band members harmonize very well with each other and that you can hear on the record.
Under flours with a lot of guitar effect's,whistle, beep and of course with a handful of great heavy rock riffs. "Ouroboros"in whole a very good tape

1.)Tell us something about the history of Dopethrone you think is interesting and that just a few people know?
Well... It's hard to remember much because we’re always drunk as hell...
The first time I jammed out with Vince and Tom (ex drummer), it was for Vatican (The band Vince used to drum for)... After a few songs they switch instruments Vince got on the guitar and they showed me the ''Stoner shit'' they started jamming out a week ago...
And I was like DAMN!! I really love this stuff!!... The next week we practiced again and decided to find a name... Dopethrone came out, and it just stayed that way... I didn’t even know about Electric Wizard at that time... I was more of a Black Metal dude stock in the 90's... so I said HELL YEAH!!! The name also reminded me of Darkthrone...
2.)Which bands have inspired you and influenced the sound of Dopethrone the most?
As in many interviews before...
Electric Wizard, Iron Monkey, Bongzilla, Weedeater
and many more...
3.) How is the song-writing-procedure working? Do you all create them together or is there a writer in the band?
Vince is the foreman. He’s the one that comes out with most of the riffs...
We support him while the song takes roots and work around that… The riffs just comes to him out of nowhere while we’re improvising ...Some other riffs are born after a long night of substance abuse... Others are jammed out on the acoustic at first.
4.)What do you think of the European audience? Is there a difference to e.g. the American one?
They both very similar... Europeans tend to be very kind and respectful, they love to encourage bands and buy merch. I guess we are more popular in Europe so far...
5.)Dopethrone is the name of your band, an allusion to the real lifestyle of the band?
Hahahahahaha...

Well, we always try to do both... But the party tends to always have the “upper hand”.
7.)Since there is Dopethrone (2008) – what was your finest moment on stage and why?
Roadburn, because it’s motherfucking ROADBURN and the Montreal Street fest in 2008, a fest all organised by street kids.
We met a lot of people at that fest, and our drummer (Carl B, former Downtrodden drummer) was there to party with us.
The after party was EPIC... But sadly, I don’t remember much...
Damn I was drunk...
8.)When will there be new material? In 2013 or do we need more patience?
We like to play new material live, we should be in studio by fall if all goes well.
9.)Tell us three things that you should not be missing on tour.
-Waking up early...
-Spending way too much time on the road without drinking ...
-Shitty food...
10.)What would you advise young bands out there? Any tips for making good doom,sludge music?
Listen to good music all day everyday. Get high/drunk as hell and let your inner demon beast scream through your fingers...
