I couldn`t find any infos from the band on the web but i think it's once again a weed orientated band who makes disturbing music. Do you have a problem with that? then stop reading immediately! You like it hard and dirty? So you will definitely like Hashbreath. They come with a rad sound and heavy riffs, especially for fans of Weedeater, Eyehategod, Buzzoven or Dopethrone this band will have some very interesting moments for you!!! At first i have to say that i really enjoyed it to review this band with a cassette, it was not easy because i had to buy a cassette deck to listen through it but it was worth. On the one hand, listen to the tape and on the other hand I finally came back to the roots with tapes...I would have never thought of ever owning such a thing again. Back to the Review and now let's start with the song's:
"The Big Chill" is a great opener and fits perfectly to introduce the band.
Blues mood filled riffs with a driving drum and bass line.
The text does nothing to the point because it is sung completely incomprehensible, i also don't speak any Nordic language so I can`t understand the sample files...but that's ok because it's music with expression and energy.
"Hashbreath" will bring you also to a nice mood. It's slow and sagging and it always keeps the groove.
If you had a bad working day it's a good song to cool down your mind and relax yourself.
"Goosebuds" grows slowly up to an instrumental doom hymn, i love this song! Very nice sabbatical riffs with a traditional head shaking tempo.
Sad but true "Black Voodoo Drug Lord" is the last song and refers to the song before.
At 01:35 the vocal storm sounds for the last time and the flogging drums do their best til the song ends.
Thank you for this intensive minutes of good music, the funny samples at the end fit perfectly to an interesting end of the tape.
The band is raised on metal, punk rock and all kinds of distortion but the main inspiration comes from the rusty old truck in Steven Spielberg´s 1971 duel.
The second EP by Swedish scrapyard rockers Shit the Cow called „Salt of the earth“ has just be released. Since last year´s „volume/cow“ the band has recruited two new members: Erik Rosenberg and Robin Lindqvist.
Shit the cow is based in Stockholm but „Salt of the earth“ is recordet in Gula Viljan studio in the small village of Rissna far in the northern woods of Sweden. The recording took place over one intense weekend in the middle of July, interrupted only by a thunder storm and ridiculous amounts of grilled beef.
The first track rolls away like it should be... awesome riffs with a fucked up, but clear voice and nice bass Vibrations let the Stonerhearts beat higher. The Drums pushes the Song to the right way and really inspired me already from the first second.
A pretty cool opener for this EP, and for sure a candy for every Stonerhead.
There is no sample Stuff or something, they let the gasoline directly flow as hard as they can.
And yes they can!
„The Decline of Wester Civilization“ is my favorite track on this record.
The Crew sounds more like american rock, then we, or I'm used to Swedish Stuff.
If you are searching for similar Bands like all the Masterblasters we already know from this Country, this will not be what you expect from Shit the Cow, it is a completly different style.
The second Track is the same scheme but has already this punky touch.
Number three sounds slow deep and hard, with nice riffs and strange melodies, dirty Vocals fuck up the Track the right way.
The last Track is completly different and should show that punk is not dead i think.
It is a brew of the sound they still have with more punk or ska influences.
All Tracks have this punk touch, but this one seems to be an omage on punk.
The whole EP sounds garage rock like, not even my taste, but on the other hand like good old punk core stuff mixed up with a fist full of Stoner Stuff.
The EP is really short and hard to describe and / or evaluate for me. I really like the first Track, if every track would burn like this, i would love this baby and the score would be much higher, but there is too much punk in the other Songs for me.
But for sure it is every time a question of taste, so check em out!
The original idea with Assblaster was to get away from girls, get
heavily intoxicated and feed cranked Marshalls with fuzztones from the
blastiest guitars we could find. Assblaster has always been about five
guys making as much heavy noise as possible. 'Blaster is not doing
anything new or contributing to the scene with some crazy ass fusion of
exotic music genres. This is straight up Fuzz n' Roll. In yer phace.
Things quickly got out of hand as Assblaster eventually hit the
stages around town. We did the first gig at this truck stop bar deep in
the woods outside Uppsala, Sweden. We expected nothing and got
everything. Naked women, naked men, broken bones and a five hour
collective black out. But, we've seen pictures from the gig. We looked
cool. The crowd got blasted that night.
Assblaster has been playing sold out shows ever since. Gigs have
been shut down due to the band being too loud, being too drunk & the
crowd getting butt naked. Headlining acts hate us and the crowd loves
us.
The phenomenon known as Assblaster has grown and taken a form far
greater than we'd ever imagined. With a cult following and a new album
the band will make 2014 into a 12 month rodeo of fuzz, beer and trashed
bars.

gayporn movie or something, it's the bandname of five hairy beer
drinking dudes from Stockholm, they have choosen a strange name that's
true, but i promise you that the music will blow the shit out of your

like the tracks of the band...stomping grooves, blues full riffs and
some great powerful solos and licks, i personally can only recommend the
tape. It's a typical and simple concept of a stoner rock band
again...but it works well and the title "VENI VIDI BLAST!" and the
muscle car fits perfectly to this male product. I'm curious how they
will evolve and I'm looking forward to see these guys live in the next

Chris Winter took his rock and roll visions to create a spaced out, rock, fuzz and psyched out band called The Black Explosion. The musical style is rooted in rock & roll although it draws big influences from space-rock, soul, blues, noise and psych. After the great debut album Servitors Of The Outer here and now - the new album Elements of Doom.
Now i hold the second „holy grale“ in my hands and i am really happy about it, because this record hits me like good acid!
Welcome to the freaked out world of The Black Explosion! A really awesome psychedelic bluesy stoner crew with a epic potential to rock. The vocals remembers on Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop, Wolfmother or something, but sounds clearly different, great arranged screams, and some effects and samples makes it better as it already sounds. What the whole Sound belongs at first definitely Hawkwind and White Stripes comes in my mind but it is harder, deeper and slower (mostly). The right point so say that i find that it is really good recorded and mastered. Sounds real professional for the second Album. The Tracklengt goes from 02:15 up to 06:01 minutes, apart from the „Wee will fall“ with the hidden track.
The cover is really strange and awesome, what is a „must have“ for such a album.
On the title track „Elements of Doom“ the Oscillator brubbles a strange brew with doomy riffs and some other spaced up stuff which sounds more fuzzed up, downtempo and psychedelic as on the first album.
The whole band could get real legendary as Mr Winter still is in another scene.
For me they are as good as Graveyard, Mamont and other bands from sweden, but it is another kind of music and especially that rulez. It may hasn´t the same „Earworm“ but comes very close on that point.
Some „Asskick“ songs are up there, like „Freekin Ride“ or „Blow it away“ which has a huge hit factor.
The Old School Fu Manchu, TAB, Nebula fraction will like „D-471“ pretty sure.
But that is only Side a if it was a LP. There are a lot of other good songs up there.
On „Mothership“ i thought Cheech and Chong himself cries out the intro and starts the ride.
The riffs sounds a little bit like the good old Sabbath here on some parts but still another strain.
A hidden Track and many good vibes are waiting at least as last track on this baby.

Spaced out guitars, samples, bass, aggressive drums (as we heard on the first album) and a „out of control“ voice remembers us that we all „Will Fall“.
I can highly recommend this record because they might get legendary and i have to say, that FOR ME they already are! So it's really worth listening! Not everyones sound of choice maybe, but i think the most Stonerheads will like it.

A nice interview with Tommi Holappa of Dozer,Greenleaf...
I know Dozer since the first album, so I’ve followed the transformation of your sound. I think "In the Tail of a Comet" is the album with the biggest cojones. What do you think about the style changes until today?
- If you listen our first album "In The Tail of a Comet" and compare it to our last album "Beyond Colossal" it's kind of like listening to two different bands.
It's all good stuff but I think it was a natural progression for us. In the first years of Dozer we were really influenced by bands like Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu etc etc so of course thats how we wanted to sound, but with time we kind of found the true identety of Dozer. I think you really can hear how we evolved with each album that we released, our song writing, playing our instruments etc etc got better. So what era do I like the best? Well, I think the early albums have charm and I do like most of the songs but I think the last one is my personal favorite. I'm really happy with how it sounds and the songs writing+Fredriks vocals are killer! But like I said I like all the albums...I’m proud of what we have done.
What was the reason for the long timeout of Dozer?
-The biggest reason was that Fredrik started studying but then also both Johan and Fredrik became parents.
Dozer 2013
Dozer released three genius albums (Madre Dios,Beyond Colossal, Call it Conspiracy…). Will another follow soon? If yes, what can you tell us about it?
- I don't know if we ever will make another new album but there will be some stuff released in the near future. First of all we have a split 7" vinyl with a swedish band called Nymf coming out at the end of april. This vinyl will have an unreleased song called The Impostor on it. Then after that we will do a digital release with 5-6-7 songs(don't know how many at the moment). All these songs are from the “Through the eyes of heathens”- era of Dozer.
Dozer is not the only band you play in. Do you have other side-projects to Greenleaf, where you also play the guitar?
-Greenleaf takes up most of my time at the moment. We have just changed singer and are writing new material that we hope to record before the summer.
What inspires you while songwriting? What would you say is the hardest part about it? How do you and the band write songs?
- Well, usually I write riffs at home and then bring it to rehearsal where we jam together and put all the bits and pieces together and hopefully it turns into a good song!
This is the way we do it with both Dozer and Greenleaf. I don't excatly know where the inspiration comes from but I know it's kind of like an addiction for me to write songs, You know when you have just put the finishing touches to a song(in the studio or in the rehearsal room) and it feels like the song kicks ass and you get a huge stupid grin on your face...That's the best feeling in the world! And I'm addicted to that feeling!
Which song of yours do you like playing live the most?
- This is a hard question! It's different songs for every gig. But I know I'm really tired of playing the song Rising from Call it Conspiracy! I think we have played that song live
on every gig we have done since 2002! It's a good song but it is really boring to play but a lot of people want to hear it so we play it. I don't mind playing because most of the time people go crazy when we play it!
For how long do you play the guitar and what kind of equipment do you use? What sound makes you horny?
- I have played for about 22 years now. Hmmmm...this makes me feel old! Hahaha!
I use Gibson guitars, most of the time I use my two Firebirds but I also have an SG and a Flying V. The Firebird through my Soldano SLO 100 amp and a few different fuzz, delay and wha-wha pedals is what makes me horny!
What do you think about the music-scene “STONER ROCK”? Are you a true Stonerhead?
- Depends on what you mean with true Stonerhead! Hahaha! I don't smoke dope but I do listen to the music! For me it's hard to say what bands are Stoner rock in these days...it's everything from 70's rock inspired bands to really heavy doom bands. In the end it's all
just about heavier music with good riffs and a lot of Groove! And there are a lot of good bands out there!
Which type of music or band do you think is so bad that it should be prohibited?
- I don't think any kind of music or any band should be prohibited. As long as I'm not forced to listen to stuff I don't like I'm happy! The world needs all the shitty bands so all the good bands sound even better! Hahaha! Just think about it...You are at work all day and listen to the radio where they play mostly shit music and when you come home you put on for example the latest Graveyard album...I guarantee you that you will enjoy it even more! Hahaha!

What moment or concert do you think was the highlight of your rock career until now?
I have had many good moments so It's hard to just choose just one concert or something like that. All the tours we have done with Dozer and Greenleaf have been fun!
Some of the highlights have been getting to tour with some awesome bands (Clutch,Mastodon,Lowrider,Brain Police etc etc) and get to see a lot of countries and cites (most of europe at least 15-20 times, U.S.A, Australia).
I could make this list even longer if I wanted to but let's just say that most of it has been a blast! And it's not over yet! With a few Dozer shows coming up in april(Desertfest) and then I will play as much as possible with Greenleaf!

Which advice can you give all the young and unknown guitarists out there?
-Stay in School! Hahaha! Just kidding! All I can say is never give up and just keep playing!

The band Lugnoro was founded in late spring of 2007 by bassman Antti Remes and guitarist Emil Rolof, after putting their previous project "The Earth Machine Band" to sleep. The thought was to play some psychadelic, progressive, heavy 70s rock with swedish vocals and a lot of organ. Soon, vocalist Björn Hansson joined and several drummers tried out.
Since things, for different reasons, didn't work out with any drummer, the band decided to record a demo anyway. With Antti (ex-drummer) behind the drums, the bands first EP was recorded in january -08 at the "Vintage Loft" studio with Anders Rane engineering. Antti moved to Finland in may -08 to pursue a career in boat construction. Shortly after, the band recruited Kim Stockfelt (bass), Mikael Edebro (keys) and Carl Baumann (drums). With this constellation the EP "Tellus" was recorded in march -09. Since then the band has gone through a change of bass player, and now filling the spot is Filip Lange.
During 2011 the band has been recording their debut album "Annorstädes", which was released in the spring of 2012 on Ozium Records.

That was the question the band Grand Selmer asked when they woke up one early morning in December 2009 in a shitty apartment in Berlin. After a while they came to the conclusion it was not a question but a statement and decided to record an album instead…
After half a year with Currywurst, Weiβbier and touring throughout Germany they went back to their roots in Gothenburg, Sweden. They started to perfect the ideas and influences they collected in the past year to record the album “Though Day of Relief” in April 2011.
Personally i would describe the sound of Grand Selmer as a mix of Q.O.T.S.A., Dessert Sessions, Eagles of Death Metal, Haiabusa and Steaming Satelittes. Their root is stonerrock but on their album you can hear kind of punk-, indie- or doomparts too, which makes the music probably suitable for a bigger target group. But listen to it and decide on your own if you like it!
